Johan says: I bought it from a friend, he just don't know what he's missing. It's metallic black. I love this guitar. I have a black one and it has little specs of silver on it.
and makes it look really cool. The bridge pick up is really good. Great tone and feel to it. Its great for rock or metal. It's really good if dropped a lot and even tried to smash it but its really strong.
The only thing I don't like about it was the original toggle switch was bad and so
I had to replace it. It had a problem shorting out.'
The only thing I did to this guitar was take off the things for the straps. I put on some eyebolts. they work better for me. Great guitar I recommend it very highly!
Malapetaka says: I used to play metal but recently have been getting more into jazz/funk stuff as well as some neo-classical and the tone is ok for some of this, although the variety of tones isn't great. There is a big problem though in the ammount of bass it gives off-even when I turn the bass fully down on my amp it's too strong.
I play it through a Marshall MG50, which isn't a great amp in itself so may account for some tone issues but the guitar still does not rival strats and les pauls as other reviewers have said.
The pickup selector snapped after a year and I found it was made of plastic despie steel plaiting. Also, the explorer shape makes it hard not to bump into things and the finish seems to chip a lot-exposing the plywood the guitar is made of, which is also quite easy to chip once exposed. A coupld of tuning pegs have come loose as well, although they are easy to tighten.
The input has problems after a while-it tends to cut out and doesn't play any sound unless the lead is in exactly right.
I've been playing 5 years now and I wish I'dhad more experience when I was buying this or I almost definately would have gone for something else. If it was stolen, I wouldn't replace it.
